Is it a relatively easy move to go from GS Toronto IBD to GS NYC IBD assuming a good performance as an SA in TO. moving to a FT position in NYC?

Sadly, most of the girls you see at NYC clubs and bars look like this. Compared to cities like los angeles, san diego, chicago, dallas, or miami, NYC simply cannot compete.

This goes out to those in the community who have secured a job and are planning on moving to NYC next year. I just wanted to take a informal poll as to where you are thinking of living, or if you already live in NYC what would be a good neighborhood to check out on a most likely bonus-less first-year salary (I'll be commuting to Wall Street). I lived in the Financial District for my internship this summer and definitely don't want to go back.

To get things started I'm currently considering,

-East Village
-Somewhere in Northern Brooklyn
-West Village (not sure I can afford it)
-or maybe midtown

Would someone mind elaborating on the advantages and disadvantages of choosing IBD in Asia vs NYC and London?
