Can somebody explain in plain english what the equity capital markets are? I have an informational interview with an ED in equity capital markets at a BB coming up and I don't really know what that is and would like to before speaking with him. If someone could explain that and what an executive directors role within this division would be I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Please forgive me if this is overly simple, I am new to finance and had a quick question.

I have heard that certain multiples are more applicable to use when valuing companies in a certain industry. For example, for industry X, it is generally better to use EV/EBITDA rather than P/E.

Is it possible for someone to explain this concept a little? Which measurements are generally used for which industries, and why?

If I have a sources and uses table and I see under sources that I have $10mm of cash, $100mm of bank debt and $80mm of sponsor equity, what would the Shareholders' Equity section of my balance sheet look like?
