Does anyone know anything about PPL EnergyPlus's energy marketing, origination and trading? I have an interview with them next week and don't really know much about them or how big they are in the field. Any input would be helpful.

We have seen the downfall of what we know as Wall Street. One of the biggest bubbles has just popped - obviously residential and commercial real estate. The next bubble has got to be renewable energy. Obama is coming in and is pouring tons of money into renewable energy and projects to rebuild all our shitty infrastructure here in the U.S. If I am not mistaken this will create a GIGANTIC market for these kinds of bonds, stocks, companies, etc. This is what I believe will be one of the new moneymakers on Wall Street in the coming years. Thoughts?

Whats the deal with FPL's trading operations? I've been trying to get in touch with someone on that desk about the job opportunities they have posted.My resume is mostly capital markets experience but my last position at a global macro fund I did a decent percentage of the trades for the commodity PM's.

Power Markets will be an interesting area going forward with the emergence of emissions markets in the U.S.

Anybody interviewing with BP Energy Trading Desk in Chicago. Any insight on final round interview process, questions/simulations etc.?

I was wondering where would be the best place and firm to start a career as an energy trader/strategist? For that would Houston be better than NYC? What about across the pond for someone like Vattenfall in Hamburg? Any opinion would appreciated.
