MBA
MBA MLT Prep ----- How good is placement into a top MBA?
If you are accepted to this program. How good is MBA placement? Can anyone talk more about their experience? Thanks
HBS MBA Application
I've decided to apply to Harvard and other business schools and was wondering how successful applicants have chosen to answer the essay questions in the past. Specifically, are you focusing mostly on a biography-driven approach, somewhat like a college application, or more of a direct approach to the questions? For instance, for the "how do you envision your career," should I talk about how I've come to decide on my career and skimp on actual details about what I want to do or the opposite?
Stats (because I know it will be asked):
Other Top Ivy (Top 15%)
Highest Honors in Major
GMAT 770
B-School: International Placement
For those of you currently in B-School, what approach do students looking to move internationally employ to find top jobs? I often hear about the strength of alumni networks, but these often do not extend beyond country lines. Do international employers frequent the likes of career fairs at HBS, Wharton, and Stanford and is career services helpful in connecting students with international opportunities? Thanks for the help all.

I need to find a decent entry-level job
I'm getting more realistic and realizing I'm not landing a good job after graduation. My GPA is currently 3.25, but if I keep up what I've done the last couple of semesters I should be around a 3.4-3.5 when I graduate. The problem is, is that I'm applying to jobs right now and my resume honestly just stinks. I need to know where I should be applying for a decent job, with my eventual goal being an MBA. Right now like I said I have a 3.25 GPA in Economics (BA). I'm only part of 2 clubs and an officer in neither. I've had an internship in the accounting department in some crappy hotel and at a Merrill Lynch Global Private client group.
What are the steps I should be taking if I want to get the MBA in 4-5 years? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
GMAT/B-School Questions
I am starting full-time in IBD this summer at a BB firm that I previously interned for. I figure I might eventually go back to business school whether it is after banking or after PE, and had a question about the GMAT.
For people who have gone to get an MBA 2-5 years out, would you recommend taking the GMAT while you are still in college? I figured it may easier this way since you are in an academic environment
Also, how long can you use your scores for admission purposes after taking the test?
PE - No longer a golden ticket to B-School?
Hey All,
In recent years, it seems as though having a job in private equity often equated to a golden ticket to many of the top b-schools. It is my understanding that many MBA programs are looking for candidates with prior experience in PE as these individuals had a high likelihood of obtaining "hot" PE jobs post-MBA. However, the economic downturn has left me thinking this may no longer be the case. With the dislocation that is currently occurring in the financial services sector, will PE experience no longer be held in such high regards?
I'd be curious to everyone's thoughts on this topic.
