MD

MD at Big Canadian Bank

Hey,

One of my family members contacted one of his old buddies from high school, who just so happens to be an MD at one of the large Canadian banks (RBC, CIBC, TD), to ask him about summer internship opportunities for a freshman at a target school in Canada. He explained that the job market is pretty dire right now but said that he would see if anything could be done and wants to set up a phone call.

I realize that it's probably pretty important to impress this MD since he most likely does not want to waste his time on some kid that knows next to nothing, so I was wondering what types of intelligent questions I could ask him to maybe lead to him forwarding my resume to the HR department.

Meeting with MD of BB

Alright so, a relative of mine gave me the contact information of an MD of a BB's corporate finance division. I've had good rapport with him through emails and Ive spoke on the phone with him once for 20 minutes a couple of months ago. We are meeting this week, and he wants to talk to me face to face before he helps me out.

Does anyone have any ideas on how/if i should prepare? Should i touch up on my dcf analysis/ accounting statements etc...? Is there any thing I should know about corporate finance? Any other suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks

Networking with MD

I email a MD through my alumni network and he reply me within the next few hours.

Since he is based in Asia, we decided to have a conversation using email. I asked him to be my referral? Is this a smart move?

MD Business Cards

When we meet an MD, is a college student going to look like a tool if he asks for MD's business card?
