I hate to admit it... really hate to admit it, but I believe that it's true - and will be more true going forward. This is awful news for me, as JPMorgan is one of the worst places in the world to work, so one would have to sacrafice job satisfaction for prestige.

WSJ just reported that JP Morgan will acquire most of WaMu's operations.

Further details on the transaction are expected Thursday night.

Not a real surprise here. It has long been rumored that JP Morgan has been in talks to acquire a portion of WaMu. It seems now that the bailout has been pushed thru JP Morgan feels comfortable enough to proceed with the deal.

I don't understand how JPM has consistently put up 90% yields over the past 2-3 years, when other banks are in the high-70s to low-80s.

I was there before and I HATED it compared to other banks - many of my friends who were there for their summer also did not enjoy their experience... terrible culture, overworked, lots of face-time, etc. - I don't get it.
