anyone applied to barclay's upcoming boot camp in nyc? any news?

Does an MBA help in the field of equity research like it does in investment banking or would it be better to just work your way up the ranks? Essentially, would taking 2 years off the job to get an MBA be worthwhile or a waste of time if I want to follow a career path in ER?

Feedback about this pharmaceutical company and their career development program? Since banking is screwed I'm looking into other options.

What do you guys think of the pharmaceutical industry given the current economic situation. I feel like if people are sick and need drugs they'll buy from pharma companies no matter what. I think its a good industry to get into now, thoughts?

For pre-MBA analyst position, does having a great GMAT score (700+) help your chance of landing a job? I am asking this, b'cause I constantly see job posting where "top academic performance" is required, yet I have nothing stellar undergrad GPA. Granted, I can't do anything about my undergrad GPA now, but thought getting a fantastic GMAT score could be a good indicator of me being academically intelligent.

Any inputs would be appreciated.

I hate these fucking boutiques. They make you go through one to two months of interviews, have you meet all these fucking bankers, make you do case studies and then call you and say they are "at-capacity" or they are in a "hiring freeze".

The firm is 10 fucking bankers, maybe 1 analyst. Why the fuck does it take two months to tell me that shit? How the hell are you at capacity or in freeze if your total firm is less than 30 people?

If you were not serious about bringing on an analyst, why waste each other's time?

They have me build them models and run these analyses and then hire a fucking intern for free.

I fucking hate boutiques. Fucking pieces of shit..

In your experience, how long have boutiques taken to hire?

I feel like shit right now since this is the fourth time its happened to me. Anyone been through this?
