freshman
resume for freshman undergrad
I already posted this in the resume forum, but I figure not many people will look at it there. I'm a freshman at a target school and I'm planning on sending out my resume to a few local VC's, asset management firms, and hedge funds for a summer internship. I'm not looking to get paid for this and I'm going to try to emphasize that in my cover letter. In regards to what to actually put on the resume, I have experience at a real estate fund and 2 leadership positions in college, but other than that it's all high school stuff. I did a lot in high school, so would it be better to emphasize and expand on that? Thanks for helping.
Accounting or PWM Internship?
Hey,
I'm a freshman at a target university in Canada and through family connections, I think it's feasible for me to get a summer position at either Deloitte and Touche accounting firm or at Cumberland Asset Management. These are my 2 secondary options in case my contacts at RBC Capital Markets do not pull through. Which one do you think is more favourable to American investment banks when reviewing a resume/relevant experience?
Thanks in advance.
How to apply to boutiques as a freshman
I'm currently a freshman at a target school, and would like to get an internship at a regional bank this summer. I'm aware that my chances are very slim, given my lack of experience and the banking industry's current conditions. With that said, I've heard it is easier to get an internship over the summer with smaller banks than a formal one with a BB as a lowly freshman. Is this true?
Also, since a lot of these banks do not have formal programs, how would I go about "applying" to summer positions? How do I even know if they are looking for workers? I don't really care where I end up working...it can be anything from NYC to Detroit to Seattle to Chicago. I just genuinely want some good experience and start working corporate jobs rather than all the retail I've done my whole life. What can I expect? Maybe a PWM position if I'm lucky?
Thanks for any insight
Frosher at Wesleyan U, CT - prepping for i-banking?
Hello
I am a freshman at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. It is a fairly selective New England liberal arts college, although clearly not Amherst and Williams. What are your thoughts in regards to preparing for a future Wall Street career? What can I do in this context to give myself the maximum opportunity for i-banking?
I have talked to the career counselors, but they seem such an obnoxious bunch of left-wing ex-hippies, that I am tempted to disregard their usefulness alltogether.
