Federal Reserve and Hyperinflation

Just want some thoughts on a possible hyperinflation bubble to come? I know we are obviously in a recession currently, but with the Federal Reserve basically being the only agency with out direct accountability, they've been printing money like nobody's business. I know this isn't an investment banking or trading discussion, but just wanted some views of the situation.

I'm not into bias news sources (fox, msnbc) but this was the only video I could find to support my claim.

Don't Go Bonkers

Exploding from Work Stress

I came across a shocking video just posted on YouTube two days ago, showing how an office worker exploding from work stress. I know many of us here work extremely long hours. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I also think that “stress relief” is such a “meh” subject for many of us still.

I hope this video would hit you in the head (pun intended) if you’re not already actively doing something about your stress.

Let me warn you though, some of you may find this video disturbing (myself included).

Extremely Robust Growth Projected

Extremely Robust Growth Projected

All right, fellow monkeys. I'm on the tail end of a 132-hour workweek, so just a brief post today.

So there I was, middle of the night, massaging an industry growth chart into an artificially-rosy picture that makes our pitch more attractive (a procedure that many of you will be familiar with). The associate comes over and tells me to add an approximate CAGR arrow. No problem. I calculate the CAGR. Noticing that thin red lines are used for means/medians throughout the rest of the book, I decide to use the PowerPoint draw tool to create a thin red line

Just So You Guys Know...

I used to post here fairly often but haven't been here in awhile and popped in to see what was going on. The first thing that jumps off the screen is that this board generally is somewhat delusional about how bad things are currently getting at major broker/dealers and banks. To qualify myself, I am a prop trader at a large, top-tier bank (and our group is having a great year so I'm not saying this b/c I am specifically in danger). Let me just educate you guys about what is actually going on, department by department...

Forum of Fame - Accepting Nominations

I am accepting nominations for our Forum of Fame. Bankerella is unfortunately no longer with us but she left us with some entertaining posts.

Please provide any links to any threads (old and more recent) that you would like to nominate for our Forum of Fame in this thread... and our Forum of Fame committee (me) will decide which ones are worthy. The threads that make it in must be extraordinary in some way.

Overheard in the elevator

I'm on the elevator this morning, woozy from not enough sleep, headed up to my floor. There are two older women on the elevator with me. They're talking.

"... But you have to watch what he eats. You can't let him have McDonald's for lunch or anything."

"No, I try to give him something lighter. Keep it healthy, right?"
