Rescinded Offers?
I have a banking offer to be an analyst with a major bank starting in summer 09. With all of the recent chaos and rough economic outlook, is anyone concerned about having their offer rescinded?
I know most of the banks curtailed their hiring a lot, but I doubt they were expecting this tough of an environment...namely little deal flow outside of FIG.
I'd like to hear what you guys think and does anyone know what the 2001-2003 period was like? Were offers rescinded for the guys who were hired at the peak?
BlackRock Offer and Layoffs
I have a full-time Analyst offer from BlackRock, but now I'm worried since they just announced job cuts. Do you think I should be concerned about this? I also have an offer from a suisse bank which I haven't rejected. Do you think I should consider changing?
Answering this tricky interview question....help
Hi,
If one interned at a top boutique in M&A and worked one's ass off and did a good job but did not receive a full-time offer at the end (obviously one is somewhat subjective here), can anyone think of a good way to spin this in an interview scenario?
If one of the principal reasons was the team culture and that there may have been an individual who was very difficult to work with, obviously this would be a bit of a faux pas to mention in a future interview, cos you're supposed to be professional and try to work well with everyone, no matter what their personality is like / even if you don't get on well.
Can anyone recommend a succint and convincing response if I get asked this in future?
Accepting an offer formalities
Hi guys. When accepting a job offer, is there a general convention that one should follow? Should I e-mail all the interviewers who interviewed me and tell them I accepted the offer and look forward to working with them in the future? Should I call them instead? Will MDs be too busy nor care to receive this news or is informing HR just fine?
Thanks!
When did Macquarie IBD SA's receive offer decisions?

FT offer waiting list? Need your insight.
Hey guys,
I would love to hear what you guys have to say about my situation.
I got a call yesterday from HR and they told me that I had done very well in my interviews on superday and that I was at the top of their "list" (near the top of the list? I can't remember). Anyways, that was the good news. BUT, the bad news is that they are still waiting to hear back from their summer analysts whom they extended offers to. My HR rep told me that their full-time recruit class is about the same as their summer analyst class and that their retention rate is typically about 75-80%. In the markets we're in, that rate could either be lower as analysts look to move away from the financial services industry, or it could be higher as those who received offers look to secure their jobs. I asked if even one summer analyst were to decline their offer, would I have a good chance at receiving an offer, and the HR rep said that I would indeed be one of the first to hear about a full-time position.
Reviving an offer? Please help please.
I once had an offer from a small boutique firm, which provides independent advisory services in United States. I rejected them and I feel I made a wrong decision. Now I see they are recruiting in one of the regional offices in the West Coast. Do you guys think its worth calling them up and asking if I can interview for the position again? How should I approach this? Any advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
