I've heard rumours that the axe was swinging at large i-bank in London today. Can anyone confirm?

MS is having an IBD superday next friday. Any idea on the format? type of interview questions? technicals? examples?

Is there anyone out there enticed by MS trading near 7 bucks? Maybe an opportunity to speculate at least in the short term on a pop in MS stock price next week?

tricky situation in that MS bankers might be slightly stronger, but the discrepency isn't as obvious as the bofa/ML transaction. Further, Citi would be the acquirer... different than the JPM/Bear or Bofa/ML transactions, in which there would be a clear victor.

WSJ reports: Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley To Be Bank Holding Companies...The Federal Reserve said it had approved the transformation of both Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs from investment banks to traditional bank holding companies, a step that would place the last two Wall Street titans under the close supervision of national bank regulators, subjecting them to new capital requirements and additional oversight.

Why is everyone concentrated on just GS/MS?

I understand that they are stand-alone investment banks but what makes UBS, DB, and CS so much different?

What benefit do UBS, DB, and CS get from being European based?

The firm has developed infallible plans to bankrupt its two biggest competitors
