First-year student with an internship in IB
Hey,
I'm a first-year student at a top target here in Canada, and I've been talking to a couple of bankers so far over the phone. I just had a call with one today, and he invited me to the office and go for a coffee with him whenever I want. I want to take him up on the offer over the break, and I just wanted some advice.
I expressed my interest in banking, and he was impressed that I'm starting early even though I'm at a target, which is why I think he invited me down. What should I be expecting, and what would be some good questions to ask? (Keep in mind I'm in first-year, and don't want to come off as a know-it-all or just douche).
Accounting or PWM Internship?
Hey,
I'm a freshman at a target university in Canada and through family connections, I think it's feasible for me to get a summer position at either Deloitte and Touche accounting firm or at Cumberland Asset Management. These are my 2 secondary options in case my contacts at RBC Capital Markets do not pull through. Which one do you think is more favourable to American investment banks when reviewing a resume/relevant experience?
Thanks in advance.
It was bad enough when I was competing with other first years..
It was bad enough when I was competing against other laid off first years. Now I'm getting rejection calls and emails (3 boutiques so far) telling me that technically I'm sound but the people they are bringing in for their second & final rounds are 2nd year analysts and have better experience.
now it looks like I won't even be getting final rounds like I did during the summer.
what the fuck?

First Year College Student Attending Info Sessions
Hi I am a first year student an a top US school and this week some BB firms are hosting information sessions on my campus. What type of questions should I ask? Should I ask for business cards/exchange information with recruiters? I am thinking to ask them about "what I should do to enter the field" etc, what do you guys suggest?
Help appreciated,
Thanks all.
