British Bankers Are Happy To Be Jerks
Let's face it: British bankers are pr-cks! It's like a proven fact or something.
To reaffirm this perceived stereotype, a group of concerned British bankers put together this joyous holiday ode to the credit crunch.

Unfortunately, the video, completely devoid of sarcasm, sympathy, or further explanation, has not been warmly received by the general public in the UK.
Whoopsies! Happy Holidays!
Resume for UK Positions
Hi all,
I'm applying for an SA position at a boutique bank in London. I'm going to a US university right now so I was wondering what changes I would have to make to my resume. Would I have to make small changes like convert my GPA to the UK equivalent, or would they be much larger? Thank you for your help.
Blackstone PE UK applications
Hi,
I am wondering whether anyone on this board is applying to Blackstones UK office for a FT position next year and heard back from them yet. The deadline passed a while ago and either the whole HR department went on vacation or they're burried under a cv avalanche... ,)
cheers
UK M&A - The Blackstone Group ....... any thoughts?
Hey,
If anyone has any insights on or experience of BX's UK M&A/Restructuring practice, specifically the 2-year Corporate Advisory analyst program, I would really grateful if you could post something or PM me
Thanks a million.
Come to think of it, what happens to ML's huge UK tax credit post BofA?
This briefly came to mind when the merger was announced, but the curiosity has gotten the better of me, so I'm hoping the experts here can shed some light on this.
If some of you recall, FT (amongst others) ran an article in mid-August describing how Merill booked their credit derivative losses ($29B or so worth) though their UK subsidiary, where net losses can be carried forward to future years as a tax credit. (article here: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/369b723e-6a52-11dd-83e8-0000779fd18c.html)
After the merger, what becomes of this credit? (arguments against the validity of this accounting trick aside)
I'm assuming this will depend in part on the way the UK entity now fits inside the global corporate structure, something which I admittedly know next to nothing about right now.
Recruiting going on now?
Ok as mentioned before I'm an american student studying in london, and looking to go back to america when I graduate. I've been looking at a number of sites for banks and consultancies and many of the apps start on Oct 1st and end end of oct/early nov., but people here are saying that recruitment is happening NOW.
Is it because U.S schools have already started? Will I have basically no chance as they've already recruited all the U.S. analysts from U.S. schools before they read my resume?
