Investment Challenge Stock Picks
So I'm participating in an Investment Challenge at my school and we've been given $100,000 to invest in an equities only portfolio that will be tracked over a 30-day period starting on Monday. Below I've listed what we've chosen for our picks and I was just curious as to what you guys think about our selections. Check it out and give me some feedback.
BTW- We were only allowed to allocate our money thru percentages so I'll put the percentage allocation next to each ticker and the price as of yesterday's close.
Apple (AAPL):__________________________19.0% ($95.00 @200)
Yucheng Technologies (YTEC):____________7.5% ($7.51 @1000)
Intel Corp (INTC):______________________7.0% ($14.01 @500)
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMY):_____________4.2% ($21.45 @200)
European Equities Trading
Does anyone here know anything about European equities. While I am comfortable with the US Economy Europe I know absolutely nothing about. Anyone know any sites that I could browse to learn more. I am interested in the legalities, government oversight etc. Thanks.
EchoTrade Proprietary Equity Trader - worth accepting offer?
Have an offer with these guys. They have offices in downtown Manhattan, and a few other places around the country (Boca Raton, Florida) etc.
They have a structured training program and the guy said about 50% of the incoming hires remain after about a year.
The kicker: NO SALARY so you must put up your OWN capital but you keep the profits.
I don't mind the risk, but just wondering if its a chop-shop where I won't learn much or if it might be a good place to start a career in trading.
If these banks get bought out by investors.. not government?
So amid all the hysteria going on right now with banks going under and firesale of assets and such, I was wondering IF banks like Wachovia and Washington Mutual get bought out by say JP Morgan, (apparently jim cramer thinks jp morgan should buy WM) hypothetically, would WM shares jump up?
If so, why or why not?
