Need help researching firms.

I'm trying to find a streamlined way to research the MM and BB I-banks. The Vault guides are obviously too fluffy. I want to know how their structures, what's their strengths / weaknesses, recent deals they've done, products they dont offer....etc.

Does anyone know a consolidated source of information...even if I have to subscribe to a service. I've check Vault, ABI Global, Thomson, SP Netadvantage...and its just mind boggling plus not that in depth. Any advice is appreciated.
