McKinsey Interview and Other Questions

McKinsey's first round interviews claim that I have a 1-hour multiple choice problem solving test. I was wondering if any of you have experiences with this and, if so, how difficult it was. What sort of materials were covered?

Also, when I applied to McKinsey, I listed an international office as my first choice. However, I now wish to work in New York. Would it be possible to change my preference and would this damage my impression to the firm?

Thanks.

mckinsey turnaround time

how long after the interview, will I find out?

M/B/B Asia offices (Tokyo, Seoul)

I was wondering how hard it is to get an offer from mbb for a non-US location. I don't mind if the compensation is less and as far as corporate culture goes, I did two internships in Seoul and China (one in consulting) so i'm fairly comfortable with the work environment.

I have a 3.4 GPA coming from a target and completed three internships: one at a tiny local startup, one at China Unicom and one at Bain (Seoul office). I got a 2400 on my SAT's if that helps at all. I'm also a native speaker of korean and passed the JLPT (japanese proficiency)LVL 1 test, which is classified as "native level."

McKinsey second round (Non US office)

Hey guys,

Can anyone share some insight on McK second round interviews? Are they harder than the first round or should I expect the same more or less? Did you guys feel you were grilled more since this was the final round and given by principals/partners? Are cases, for example, harder to solve and talk about?

Thanks in advance!

Getting a McKinsey Interview

McKinsey is interviewing at my school, and I was hoping to get a feel for my shot at an interview. I've previously gotten first rounds w/ Bain and Bcg, but I hear McKinsey is more selective than even them.

I was a summer analyst at MS, and I did get an offer. I've got a 3.6 and solid, but not spectacular, ECs at a semi-target. I've also got the diversity thing going, if that matters at all. I'm faily certain that I can destroy the case; I just need the opportunity.

Given that McKinsey has like a 3.7-3.8 gpa cutoff, should I expect to still get on the closed list, or should I just forget McKinsey? Sweet, thanks guys.
