How Can I Help My Resume While Traveling Abroad?Hello all, It's been quite a while since my last time on the forums and quite a bit has changed. Fortunately, I still find myself very interested in business - finance particularly. I'm currently rounding up my second semester as a sophomore in college and have planned to take off next year in... 1 year 2 months
Telecommute Jobs In Finance?Hello Monkeys, It's been a while since I've last been active on the forum (I still lurk around here and there of course) and, in this time of near absence, my interest in finance hasn't dwindled but perhaps changed. I'll be a sophomore in the fall looking to major in Finance. Previously, I... 1 year 11 months
Constructing a Worthwhile Resume as a FreshmanSo at some point this month I look to apply to both Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan's Bridging the Gap Summer Internships for Freshman. Naturally, both require a resume and I was looking for any feedback or advice on mine. Please have at it, the more critique the better. Being aware that I attend... 2 years 5 months
Has An MBA Become Redundant?I stumbled upon an interesting article, "Would The Economy Be Better Off Without MBA Students" on The Economist earlier. Now I'm sure this debate is not new to anyone but perhaps not highlighted enough these days. Seeing that I don't have enough points to post links, here are some key excerpts... 2 years 6 months
Federal Reserve Bank, PE, or hold out for a very...I'm a freshman at the end of my first semester at a non-target school (Virginia Commonwealth University) with a current GPA of 4.0 and entrance to the honor's college pending until the start of second semester. Through some alumni networking I recently had conversations with business related alumni... 2 years 6 months
Reaching/Networking Out To Alumni: Zero AccessI’m a freshman at the end of my first semester in college at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and, being the future aspiring IB that I am, I have begun to do a series of things to start improving my chances into breaking into field. Everything has gone well and as planned, if that’s possible... 2 years 6 months
Things I should be taking in mind on an IB track...I'm currently a Freshman winding up my first semester at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Previous to the past few weeks I was unsure, really, of what I wanted to do as a profession and where I wanted to go with my life. After doing what I would consider to be solid research on many finance... 2 years 6 months

Telecommute Jobs In Finance? What about a job that can be done not necessarily in the same state or even the same country as where your "boss" is? 1 year 11 months
Constructing a Worthwhile Resume as a FreshmanThese wouldn't be the only internships I would be applying to. In reality these are as "reach" as it gets seeing that I go to a non-target and have no experience. I also plan on applying to some middle market IB's in the city I live in. That's good advice though. And I agree, the fact that you were... 2 years 5 months
Constructing a Worthwhile Resume as a FreshmanI only scored an 1890 total, so I guess that's not happening. And that's good advice, it definitely is a lot more relevant to what I'm trying to do compared to other experiences. 2 years 5 months
Constructing a Worthwhile Resume as a FreshmanYeah I'm trying to remember anything that would look good on there, Kid Flash. And Grand Jury, thank you for that in depth post, changes have been made. I appreciate it. 2 years 5 months
Constructing a Worthwhile Resume as a FreshmanYou make a good point and thank you. 2 years 5 months
Constructing a Worthwhile Resume as a FreshmanChanges made. Thanks for the advice! I just can't seem to find anything to fill the space. 2 years 5 months
InternshipThe fact that you could get such a position and that you've had the presence of mind to try to get those internships really puts you ahead. I do agree with Black Jack to an extent, though. If you are passionate about finance, then go for it. But don't let it interrupt your social life/fun in your... 2 years 5 months
What to read in the morning?I'm a freshman as well. I usually check out The Economist or Financial Times. 2 years 5 months
Better to Have Been Rich and Lost It, or Never...Having something and losing is much, much worse than never having it all. I think in any aspect of life we can all attest to that. However, the point on experience being the currency of life brings an interesting perspective. If that truly was the case why would you bother worrying about money at... 2 years 5 months
