Independent Consultant - how to put on resume?Hi there, I've been working as an independent consultant for the last year. In this time, I've had a number of clients that are geographically varied. My question is: on my resume, shall I list these clients? There are about 4, and one or two are names worth mentioning - one being a startup that... 2 years 2 months
MS Office Specialist CertificationsHi there. I'm looking to get into economic consulting, or economic research. I'm considering getting the MS Office Specialist certifications. I'm already very comfortable with the main Office programs and, looking at the syllabi, would have no trouble with these. I just wonder if it's worth the... 2 years 3 months
Qualifications for Economic Consulting jobsHi there, I had a question about the qualifications needed/recommended for analyst jobs at economic consultancies. I currently have a BA from a UK university double majoring in Econ and Management, and an MA from a US school in Economics. I still feel that I could improve my math, and to that... 2 years 4 months

Quit the Rat Race and Attempting a Comeback, Here...Thanks for posting, interesting story with some good takeaways. I agree somewhat with whalesquid123, your concluding thoughts are not really what I thought they would be - it DOES sound a bit like you're saying that your main takeaway was that you should've entered the rat race sooner. Nonetheless... 2 years 3 months

Why are we Obsessed with "Work/Life Balance...Great article, thanks for sharing. It's something I worry about as well. I'm married, and don't currently work full time (by choice partially, but also by circumstance). I will be entering the full-time market soon, and it's something I worry about - I love spending time with my wife. But I also... 2 years 4 months
How to Survive and Thrive During UnemploymentGreat post, and great replies too. I've been out of the job for a little while owing to a number of reasons, and while it was tough at first (and still can be), I've done a lot of the things you've said and it helps. It's important to stay optimistic that things will turn around, and not to compare... 2 years 4 months
Am I screwed? Application mistake! It's funny - you always read that one tiny mistake will completely tank your application, but I don't think it's the case. Especially when everything is so impressive. I mean, it might give the impression that you're sightly sloppy (even if it's not true) - but that shouldn't be a complete deal... 2 years 4 months
Am I Screwed?I've heard that you ought to tell employers that they are your top choice - it's not really a lie if they're not, since they are no doubt 'up there' on your list, even if they aren't clearly your number one. Having said that, I do understand playing 'hard to get' - I can't imagine it reflects will... 2 years 4 months
