Is MM PE worth it?If one can't get into a megafund (e.g. Blackstone, Carlyle) is it worth it to go to a good middle-market firm that might be less well-known but still seems to have good people? e.g. Hellman and Friedman, Berkshire Partners, and then try to move up to a bigger, more prestigious fund after? 3 years 5 months
Does your school or background matter for getting...my thoughts are if one candidate comes in with a 3.9 from Harvard or Wharton their first staffings tend to be more substantive, they might get the benefit of the doubt for being smart if they mess up the first time, whereas someone with so-so grades from a state school might be held to a higher... 3 years 6 months
Elite Boutique-Deal Experience?I know everyone has heard about the great deal experience analysts at Greenhill, Evercore, Lazard get. I don't doubt that many of the analysts do get great experiences, but from what everyone says here typically its only one analyst per deal no matter how big the deal (e.g. Berkshire-Lubrizol, AT... 3 years 7 months
BB M&A vs. GS/MS industry groupHow would you weigh an analyst program at Citi, BAML M&A vs. MS/GS in their non-MS M&A/non-GS TMT/FIG groups? For exit opps (does GS/MS still win here), deal experience (assume M&A might be better but not sure?), hours (assume M&A is worse)? 3 years 7 months
Target vs. Non-TargetOne thing that's very disheartening to read on this forum is the bias against kids from targets. Apparently, kids from targets just *happened* to be privileged enough to get into a good school while kids from non-targets unfairly get screwed. I'm sorry, but when did working hard in high school and... 4 years 6 days

Why is drunk driving illegal?Seems like too much government intervention on the part of liberals... I'm sorry, but if I'm drunk and want to drive why should the government prevent me from doing that? Unless I actually hurt someone else in an accident, in which case that's different, the government should have no right to... 4 years 1 month

Seemed like good operating experience, and he was paid based on commission which was nice, so he had a lot of upside.... 2 years 1 month
