Background check questionI honestly don't think it will matter. If you told them it was unpaid, worst case scenario is they will ask you to provide a contact, in which case you can find the PM on LinkedIn and ask for his info. 1 year 5 months
GS or BAML?Definitely go with Goldman. If you don't like them at the end of the summer, you can always go to BAML (if you get an offer). The other way around is just not true. If you don't get an offer, and I thi k that shouldn't be your focus right now, you can always get a boutique or MM gig, or even a "... 1 year 5 months
How much more difficult is Full Time IBD...
I don't know what your problem is dude. Maybe if you were less antagonizing, your post wouldn't get 3 Monkey Shits... I am AGREEING with you that the summer program is less risky than full time recruiting because it allows the group to sift out incompetent people. I never... 1 year 5 months
How much more difficult is Full Time IBD...And you were "taking a client through a model" as an SA???? I call horse sh!t on that. You would be lucky to go to a meeting as an SA, and even then your role would be to sit down and be polite, not to speak - much less to walk a client through a model, which, if a client were viewing it, would be... 1 year 5 months
How much more difficult is Full Time IBD...
I think the advantages you're neglecting are familiarity with formatting, macros, personalities of people in the group, printing facilities, cafeteria, office layout, seamless retrieval point, etc. All of these are minuscule on their own but add up to make an impact on how... 1 year 5 months
How much more difficult is Full Time IBD...
One or more of the following: 1. This response was written as a joke. 2. You have not gone through the SA process and so know very little about what SA's are capable of by the end of the summer. 3. You work(ed) in a group that have SA's no real responsibilities. HFer is... 1 year 5 months
How much more difficult is Full Time IBD...
It's just an unfortunate reality. The SA's are already familiar with everything and can hit the ground running once graduated. Honestly surprised some firms still go through FT recruiting, I'm sure it's just to fill holes from SA's who didn't want to commit.
One or... 1 year 5 months
I'm 25 and want to break in to IBD. What do...I think you should aim for corporate, not IB. It would be a much, much better use of your time at this point, and at least you would have a real shot at getting in at a healthcare company unlike at an Ibank. Best of luck. 1 year 5 months
Does my pre-MBA job/title matter for post-MBA...Keep in mind that the "advice" you get on this board is often times coming from high schoolers and college kids who have no relevant experience to what you are asking, and use the "I know a guy" analogy to support baseless claims. Obviously the job you have before business school impacts... 1 year 5 months
BX, GS, Tiger fundsDefinitely very loyal alumni. UVa kids are strong candidates as well and can usually hit the ground running relatively smoothly terms of finance knowledge. 1 year 6 months
