All pitching, no live deals; how to describe in...Did an investment banking internship at a medium-sized universal bank. All I did (I was there for 8 weeks) was work on pitch books (mainly updating, some creating my own slides) and trading comps (only updating). I also worked on some internal memo-type stuff (i.e. outlining prospective... 1 year 11 months
Interviews after rejecting offer? If you reject an SA offer at, say, a top BB, how likely would it be for you to get future interviews with them (e.g. FT recruiting, associate recruiting)? (I know that BBs often don't recruit FT, but sometimes they have one or two spots open. How likely would it be that I would be granted an... 2 years 6 months

Should you thank first-round interviewers for...If I get second-rounds/final-rounds, I usually email my first-round interviewers (if they're bankers and not HR) informing them I've progressed, and ask their advice for final rounds. Should I also put a line in the email thanking them for recommending me for the next round in the first place?... 2 years 7 months
Should I ask for a hotel?I have a superday coming up soon. I need to be at the bank's office in New York at 8:00am, so I guess I'd want to reach the airport in NY by about 6:00am. I'll be leaving from Chicago, so it's a 2-hour flight. HR offered to help me book the flight and hotel if necessary. Does this situation... 2 years 7 months

I know analysts in equity sales call up the buy-side and try to sell them stocks all day; I imagine it's different in AM (are they calling pension funds all day trying to get them to pump more into the AM's fund?). Or is it more of a relationship... 2 years 7 months

What entry-level roles are available in AM?Are entry-level roles in the Asset Management divisions of BBs (e.g. JP, GS) split into "research" (analyzing investments the AM division might make) and "sales" (selling the division's services to institutions) roles? 2 years 9 months
Language Requirements for Banking in Singapore? From reading various threads, it seems that a job in Investment Banking in Hong Kong requires fluent (preferably native) Mandarin. This may be slightly relaxed if you are not in country coverage, but less-than-fluent means you get to work on no China-related deals, which makes up most of what BBs... 2 years 9 months
Ideal Networking Timeline? How should one build a traditional networking relationship? For London, I think RBC - it's done better in the global league tables than Macquarie for a few years, and is on the rise, while Macquarie's trending the other way. 2 years 6 months
