Minneapolis IB Scene

I posted something about this on the Piper Jaffray thread, but figure maybe a new topic would yield some more results.

Can anyone comment on the IB scene in Minneapolis? There are quite a few MM banks there (PJ, Laz MM, HW&Co., Stifel, HLHZ, etc). Are there certain industries that are prominent in the twin cities (as energy is in Texas, for example)?

Summer Class during SA - Possible?

So I just met with my adviser, and it seems that they have revised my school's liberal arts core requirements somewhat - long story short, I have to take a summer course in order to graduate with all of the stuff I'm after (econ, finance, acct minor, etc.).

That being said, is taking an online summer class through community college (so it should be a breeze) possible during an SA stint?

The title pretty much says it all. After reading that some people are willing to spend 10k on a finance prep summer thing, I thought it'd be pretty funny to hear what some people who have FT jobs/offers or even SA offers did their freshman summer...or I could be wrong, but anyway -

Does anyone know any info about this place? I'm looking at various MM to try to find something for the summer (its been rough so far with BB). Are they really "Lazard" or do they still have the GAH feel to them?

Difference in Interviewing (London vs. NY)

Hi all. I recently was notified that I will be interviewing for SA in London. Are there any differences in terms of valuation of which I should be aware? Is it still DCF, CAPM, WACC, etc.?? Will I need to know any of the differences in international accounting standards versus GAAP?

Houlihan Lokey Opinions

Hi everyone. This is my first post, but I've been reading for a long time. I know there are various opinions on Houlihan. I have an interview with them coming up and am curious as to the experience you get working there. I looked at the league tables and they rank highly, but they do like 100 more deals than banks who get about the same in fees.
