Who is going?

Any advice from someone that has done it in the past?

If you interview with equities can you be placed with fixed income?

If you interview with equities at a BB can you be placed with Fixed Income or other divisions? From my understanding, S&T analysts are generally all placed together in one class and request their top choices. However, is there a class of all equities products analyst and a class of fixed income, etc.?

Why do people not want to trade equities?

Is it because its less mathematical? Lower pay? Easier to automate?

From what I read in this forum, people fear being placed into equities.

Hey Guys,

A friend of mine started this website a little while back with internship ratings and reviews that I think is pretty useful. Prop shop compensation - anyone make it big early?

Of course it is completely performance based, but anyone ever get a substantial bonus early on in their careers? Or is it just a small percent of the class that does well while the rest do average?

Difference between IBD and Capital Markets?

So i am doing a six month internship in the area starting Monday (I know, last minute)and am looking for somewhere to live near the CalTrain, as my internship is south of the city. What's the best bet? Furnished would be ideal. I've had limited luck with craigslist

VC to Hedge Fund?

I've always been extremely interested in hedge funds, but when I had the opportunity to do an internship at a VC firm starting this summer, I took it. Is it likely/possible to go from VC to HF after an analyst stint at a VC firm or are the skills completely separate? Also, is VC looked upon highly by HFs?

An MD at a BB once told me that unless i am a quant superstar, I should not try to pursue a career in prop trading. Would you all think this is a valid statement?
