how do you know when to leave?

given how much bonuses can vary in this business, how does one go about deciding they're not making as much as they could and making a move?

I've learned not to pay too much attention to starting offers because they seem pretty standardized across BB S&T groups, and to a lesser extent across quality prop firms, but also because the job is all about the bonus, the upside.

what's a disaffected megalomaniac to do

I've been working at a small (but successful) prop trading firm for
about 3 years now, and am at a point where I'm looking back on my
career, and realizing if I worked for google out of college my stock
options would have been worth more than my entire cumulative comp at
this supposedly higher risk/reward job. it's becoming increasingly
