Value of MBA (2nd Tier) + CFA in PE Industry

Hi,

I am an MBA (Finance) from 2nd Tier B-School (December 2005 Grad). I am trying hard to get into PE/VC Industry, however, lack of direct I-Banking and/or PE/VC experience are putting my odds against me.

I am planning for CFA Level 1 exam. However, before that I wanted to get the idea on how much worth it would to invest time and money for CFA. Will it give me good base or good position to enter at Entry Level in PE/VC??

Early MBA from 2nd Tier School, Less Work Experience Issue for I-Banking Jobs

Hi there,

I am currently facing the Early MBA and Less work-experience issue, while searching for I-Banking jobs.

I finished my MBA (Finance) - GPA 3.3 from 2nd Tier school - www.Thunderbird.edu - (overall). School is 2nd tier overall in MBA, however, the school is ranked #1 in International Business speciality by Financial Times and by Wall Street Journal and many other publications. Many alumni are at great places in top banks. However, when it comes to I-Banking, the company seems to be looking at those Top-5 Finance MBA B-school.
