Bringing Deals to Banks and Getting a Cut

So I know of this company that is looking to raise some money ($50 mill or so) by issuing equity (founders want a partial exit) and it's not really what we do seeing as we're not an ib.

Now, with something this small, I have some contacts I can make introductions to, but what is the best way to go about doing it so that I can get a cut of this deal? What should I expect my cut to be?

Can anyone recommend me some reading to bone up on this? I've got a high level understanding (reserves, state of project, etc), but would like to learn more about this.

I've talked to a couple of the student ambassadors and it seems like their answers to questions are straight from the brochure.

What do you like about Stern?

Oh, there are just so many opportunities out there that it's hard to take advantage of them all.

Asian, 24, working in VC, 700 GMAT, 3.6 UG GPA from Canadian School. Decent EC, WE and leadership.
