How do IBD groups rank analysts for group selection?

I was wondering whether anybody had any input on this. Is it just based on CV books? (Pre)-training test results? Other parameters? Any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks

Graduate Deferral Program - UBS and elsewhere?

Was wondering whether the offer of a deferred start was sent around to all FT08 analysts at UBS and at any other BBs?

I understand this type of program was used in 2001 - does anybody have any ideas on what the risks and upsides of this program are and how they played out in '01?

Group selection for FT08 - when does it happen?

I was just wondering when the group selection process starts for FT's at most BBs. I still haven't received any information on it from HR - is anybody in the same boat? And when do we find out which group we're placed into - I've heard that it may only be at the start of training? Thanks in advance for any tips on this process.

UBS IB - should FT08 analysts be worried?

After hearing the writedown news, the certainty of deep job-cuts and now the new activist campaign launched by Olivant, I was wondering if some of the senior people on the forum think that FT08 analysts should be worried? In particular, the prospect of a break-up is becoming increasingly possible, if not in the next coming months, perhaps over the next 1-2 years.
