Masters (1 yr) or FT

So I did a bit of searching and I didnt see anyone who made a post specifically about a possibly common conundrum: participating in FT recruitment or participating in SA recruitment and applying to a 1 yr masters programs.

Is there anyone who has encountered the same problem?

Is the job market that poor that pursuing a masters straight after undergrad actually looks more enticing?

July/August Recruitment??!!??

I remember I applied to CS Asia IBD for a SA position this year and they replied back saying "you were too late but apply for FT in July/August."

So I was just wondering if anyone knew if any other firms did that, if its an Asian thing or if theres actually an advantage/disadvantage to applying before late August/early September?

Kiss on first date?

So me and my friends have somewhat of an ongoing debate; one side argues kiss no matter what on a first date, even if its uncomfortable or whatever you just have to do it. The other side says kissing within 3 dates is fine, if you dont kiss within around 3 dates your stuck in friend zone.

Any girls with opinions?
Anyone who thinks the 3 date rule is bogus?

Another Damn Excel Macro Question

Hey guys just a quick and painless question here for all the ladies and gents who are familiar with VBA:

Here is a macro I created and at the moment its placing the result (sum of a certain column) in the active cell (im assuming) and I was wondering how to put the result in a cell other than the active cell (say +4 columns or 4 columns to the right). Any suggestions??

Quote:

Sub Test()
Dim LR As Long
With ActiveCell
LR = .Offset(, -8).End(xlDown).Row - .Row
.FormulaR1C1 = "=SUM(RC[-8]:R[" & LR & "]C[-8])"
End With
End Sub

Excel Macro not working after change in file name!!!

I recently created a system of macros. Is there a way to apply the already-created macro to different excel files without the original file open?? I tried taking the original excel file which i used to create the macros and "saved as" a different file name and sure enough the macros didnt work (as I received a Debug error, alerting me the original file could not be found) but when I have the original file open along with the newly saved-as file the macro works...

Also, I checked to see if there were any references in my code to the workbook that contains the code. There was, for example:

Application.Run "'WorkbookXYZ.xls'!Macro24"
ActiveCell.Offset(0, -6).Range("A1").Select

Any suggestions??

FT and SA recruitment in same year??

Hello,

Im going into my senior year of uni (but technically only my third year because of A-levels) and Im thinking of just doing an extra semester (ie graduate fall 2010 not winter 2009) or maybe do a Masters (opinions?? lol) because the job market is baloney right now.

BUT anyways my initial question was: has anyone done a season of FT recruiting interviews, didnt get any offers and then went ahead and interviewed for SA positions?

Would the interviewers for FT be the same ppl as for SA and if so, is that a problem for someone interviewing for both positions (albeit at different times of the year).

Thanks!

Variable Change/ Monty Hall Problem

Hey so everyones probably heard of this problem either from the movie 21 (you know where he has 3 doors to choose from and one door has a car... etc) or from studying for interviews.

Does anyone get this problem thoroughly? If so, can you explain it?
Also, has anyone been asked it in a SA/FT interview?
