S/T or Equity Research SA -> FT HF

Hey, I know we've still got a while before SA recruiting and the market is a mess right now, but I was wondering, if my goal is to get into a fundamental group such as DE Shaw (General Associate) or Bridgewater (Investment Associate) after college, what would be the best SA groups to apply to? (Yes I will also be applying to the SA positions available at the funds that have them)

Would being a SA at a BB (yes I know this will be tough to do again, but humor me) in S/T or Equity/Investment research be better? I think I've been biased by this board but S/T sounds the more prestigious ones (something that I think the funds would like), but then again S/T has been taking a pounding lately...

And if S/T, what desks would you recommend? How's something like FX trading?

Thx a ton, any other suggestions would be great too!
Best of luck everyone,
Consulting in Random Cities Abroad

Hey, was wondering how the experience is abroad say in a city such as Paris or Madrid or Milano? And if it was any easier to get a position here?

I'd really be up for living in one of those cities for 2 years as a BA and then going for an MBA in the states or UK.

And does anyone have any info on applying to those offices? Is it just as simple as choosing a foreign office on the general application or does one really need to make an effort with the individual team? Oh, and finally are foreign offices normally willing to hire non-nationals?

Thx,
Best desks at a BB to summer to get into HF FT?

I was looking to apply to a BB desk SA stint and then hopefully get a FT position at a top HF such as Bridgewater or Citadel, etc... Was wondering what you guys thought, is it better to go more relevant to a fundamental/quant fund or jst whatever desk is perceived as best? thx!

btw the summer position would probably be in HK,

Major GPA

Hey guys, I'm building a resume right now and had a quick question. I've a 3.8 overall gpa, but only a 3.6 in my major (Mathematics) - is it expected to put on my major specific gpa or should I just put on the overall? Will recruiting understand/acknowledge that maybe Maths a little rougher on the gpa than most?

Thanks guys,
