PE managed pricing

i dont understand the underlying logic of this concept.

"if up-mkt betas are greater than down-market betas, PE managers are slow to mark portfolios up and follow the principle of conservatism"

if beta*risk factor gives us the risk premium for risk exposure, shouldnt the manager be quick to markup the portfolio when beta is high in the up-mkt?

What does it take for someone to be recruited in TAS at one of the big 4? would it mattered if i had a MS in Accounting over an MS in Finance?

For what it's worth, I'm CFA Level 2 candidate and a CAIA Level 2 candidate, in the process of an MS in accounting from one of the feeder schools.

FCFF vs. FCFE

1. FCFF is preferable (to FCFE) for a company with a history of leverage changes, as its growth rate will be more stable than FCFE growth rate.
2. FCFF is better for a firm with high leverage.

can someon explain why?
