Is it likely to get a call from applying on-line to operations positions? Ive seen some folks on here say that applying online is a waste of time.

At my school, even operations isnt even recruited.

Let's say you didn't get an IB job after college. What other jobs or areas would you say offer the greatest potential to shift to a analyst position at an IB?

Let's assume the majors the candidate has are finance, economics, math, physics, computer science, or something else along those lines.

When reading papers, magazines, on-line, etc I often read things about different industries from analysts within them. Are theze IB analysts? If not, what exactly do IB analysts..well analyze?

What are other fields that look good for top MBA programs and could maybe hlep you get associate gig after grad school?

Fields that oay well wouldnt hurt either, after all, thats why Ibanking is so lucrative.

Physics, Math, Econ major here. (Not all three but deciding between them.)

5 year BA/MA

I'm going to be in undergrad forever it seems with multiple major changes and a year completely off. That being said, I think I may graduate with a BA/MA in math since I can do both rather quickly.

How do banks look at this regarding analyst positions?

How easy (or hard) is it to get an associate position in a BB bank with no experience as an analyst? I'm thinking I may have to start out in corporate finance or commercial banking (probably this) and then go into Ibanking after doing a MBA.
