For those of you who don't intend to make banking a career, what's your exit strategy? How long do you plan on working in banking?

Investment banking and going to the gym

I'm pretty much a gym freak and am worried that banking is going to cut into my workout time. While I'm willing to sacrifice some workout time, I pretty much need an hour a day to lift, etc. Are most of you guys able to hit the gym every day? Is it any easier for associates to escape during the day than analyst?

What are the odds of lateraling from biglaw to pe after say about 3 years of pe and/or bankruptcy legal work? Assume the candidate also has a summer of BB banking experience and a top 10 mba.

I'm contemplating taking either a job with a top notch M&A boutique or a job with a second-tier consulting firm specializing in financial services consulting. Assuming I want to do pe in a few years, which would be the better choice? These are post-mba jobs.

Is 34 too old to be a first-year banking associate?
