Lazard Real Estate Investment Banking

Hey. i was wondering if anyone had any information on this group. Why do the recruit separately from the rest of Lazard? Are they well regarded on the street? Do they get any restructuring work? I have an upcoming interview with them. Thanks.

Second/Third Tier Consulting Firms

I hate to use the 2nd/3rd tier term, but how are exit opportunities for non-MBB firms. Finance is impossible to get in, as are MBB and top tier firms, so would joining a lesser-known firm hinder one's chances of a top b-school?

So if we say M/B/B is tier 1. Monitor/OW/Katzenbach/LEK/Booz tier 2... I assume those firms still provide good exit ops for b-school.

what about firms like OC&C, Deloitte Management, Accenture Management, Gotham, Archstone?

The Bridgespan Group

Hi all. I'm wondering what people think about The Bridgespan Group. There are pretty big but I've never really heard much talk about them. Granted they aren't as competitive as Bain or anything, but would joining in straight out of undergrad provide opportunities to M7 bschools?
Thanks

Cornerstone Research

I was wondering if anybody had information on Cornerstone Research. I know they do litigation-related consulting. Are they a good place to work? Would someone choose them over other firms like katzenbach/oliver wyman...etc. How is their placement to b-school? Thanks!

Landing FT IBD at BB you rejected for SA

Is this possible? I had a SA offer with a BB ibd that I turned down, despite getting along with everyone VERY well. I felt terrible going somewhere else, but honestly it was more a trading vs banking decision. I hated trading and have no offer to show for after the summer internship. Do HR/MDs hold grudges? Has this been done before? Thanks.

Non-IBD summer to IBD full time

Is this a possible route for full time? I had a summer ibd offer at a strong bulge bracket, but opted to take an internship in trading at another BB. I realized I didn't like it, and despite still trying hard did not receive an offer. I want to go back into ibd at this point, so I'm wondering if its a possibility. I'm especially interested in some of the top boutiques, and am wondering if they would even consider interviewing a person with no banking experience. Despite doing my internship at a top BB (MS/GS) and coming from an ivy league, I feel as if I'm a large step behind anyone with a banking background, BB or not.

How to land a HF job after college?

Hello. I'm a rising senior and want to go to a decent hedge fund after graduation, preferably something that's known. I'm really interested in long-short so I will be applying to some internal prop funds at bulge brackets, but I want to also apply to non-quant funds as well (aka no RenTech, JSC).

Is it possible for undergrads to find these jobs if they don't recruit at the school? I go to an ivy league but still, most hedge funds do not recruit and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do besides e-mail a resume and cross my fingers.

Also, I come from a trading background, not from IBD. I didn't receive an offer from my group. They liked me, but unfortunately there wasn't enough space. How will my lack of offers affect their perception? Thanks.

Taking an extra year due to no SA offer

Let's say someone does not get a SA return or full time offer. I've heard of some people taking an extra year to do another major/minor to reinterview for SA/full time positions.

Why don't people consider 1 year masters programs instead? Isn't it a great way to hide the fact that you didn't get an offer? Also, it could marginally help your application, rather than raise questions when you take the extra year of undergrad.
