hey, right now i am a sophomore at a community college in California, but am planning to transfer this coming year. Chances are ill be at a non target (but ranked top 50) or at best a semi-target as a biz econ major. Would it be difficult to get a job as a trader in southern California coming out of a non target?
Also, what exactly is prop trading? is it just day trading?

SAT scores?

right now i am at a community college in california. i took the SATs in high school and got a 1580 (out of 2400)... i know , but i also have a 28 on the ACT. Im hoping to transfer this year. Will investment banks ask for SAT scores? im trying to figure out if i should retake them. And if anyone has any other advice ill take that also !

Foreign internships?

im just a rising sophomore, but i just have a few questions. how competitive are internships in investment banking for BB's and MM's in london/paris area? from what i understand london is a bigger center for finance, but there are opportunities in paris.

Should I take this internship?

So im going to find out tomorrow if i receive an offer. Right now i just finished my freshmen year at a junior college. my question is that, if i receive an offer from the hedge fund i interviewed at, should i take it? its only 2 people in the office. THey said i would start out doing data entry and they would teach me more than that, but they said i could learn a lot. Should i take it?

Are i-bankers more unhappy and miserable than people of similar age in different fields say corporate finance, auditing, accounting, etc or lets even say law or medicine? or is it one of those things where "the grass is greener on the other side"?

Claremont Mckenna?

How good is claremont mckenna in placing into IB, more specifically in LA or SF/Palo Alto/Menlo Park? And what about USC, UCLA, or UCI?? I figure UCI and UCLA will not be as good, but am not sure.
Any body have first hand experience?

Freshmen year summer

Hi , im new on these forums and just about to finish my freshmen year at a community college in northern cali as a prospective econ/finance major. Had an opportunity to intern at UBS as long as my cc gave me credit, but being as dumb as they are, they didnt. I have tried looking for any internship this summer but no luck, so have resorted to cold calling =/ but still nothing. additionally being from a community college, it seems to me i am somewhat disadvantaged as i may be competing against stanford, cal, sjsu, etc... students. Is it a bad thing if i dont have an internship for my freshmen year summer?
