Networking Dilemma

So here's the deal. I'm a senior at a non-ivy (Big 10 school) with a 3.8 gpa. One of my family members is a CFO for a global bank. I set up a meeting with him at his house for this weekend to talk about my "career". I know he routinely works with the head of their IB, and I want to get into their IB program. I'm assuming this should not be a relatively hard situation, but how should I go about it? Do I just tell him what I want him to do (talk to the head of IB and get me a spot), or what? I'd prefer to work for this IB over others, because they also have a PE and HF group (opposed to the MM banks I've been talking to), so transition might be easier for me into those jobs later. Knowing how hard recruitment is going to be due to the limited space for new analysts, I want to make sure I do not mess this up. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

Student in an Unfavorable Situation

The Situation: I'm a senior in economics at a Big 10 school with a high GPA, but failed to pursue any meaningful internships (Also taking CFA Level I exam in December, if that helps any).

The Goal: Determine the best route to take to get a position in an IB or HF.

The Options: I have 3 options I can pursue to right my career, I think. 1) I have a cousin who is a Senior Associate at an IB, and can get me an internship. 2) A small HF has offered me an internship. 3) I contacted an alumni from my school at JPMorgan, who can get me in the Mid-Corporate Banking Program.

What should I do? At this point, with not much experience, I'm open to almost any idea. Basically, I just want a job that is stable and allows for alot of growth opportunities, while providing a nice income. I've asked around, and people have taken various career paths to get into IB. What is the best option for me? Should I even pursue an IB career?
