Where do those who failed to become an investment banker go

I'm sure some of you here have seen friends who have failed to become an investment banker.. either failing to get a job as an analyst or got kicked out after they became an analyst/associate.. may I know where do these people go? Do they go to other parts of the industry.. does that mean that they'll earn significantly less? Are they not even in the banking industry.. taking 10 per hour jobs? what do they do..?

Masters in FE

I am just wondering.. how's the admission process into MFE programs at Berkeley, Columbia and the like.. what kind of GPA, undergraduate courses do they look for (Physics, math are fine?)? Research experience needed? If so, research experience in what field- eg math, stats?.. Or would they prefer internship experience?

Is work experience necessary?

Do most people take up loans to fund their studies? Job prospects are definitely good for MFE grads right, that they can pay off the 70-80K loans easily?

Does anyone know about the Operations research program at top unis like Columbia and Cornell which are funded? They are so much harder to get in.. and what does it take to get in?
