What indicators are comingly used to analyze call contracts? I know there is MACD and Stochastic charts, but what else would typically be evaluated before you buy? Is it just the reverse for puts?

IBD positions, and their subsequent progression timelines, are well explained in the IB forum. I am wondering what it is like in ER. How long does it take to go from assistant/junior associate > associate > analyst > senior analyst? Is it the same 2-3 years to move from junior associate to associate as one would expect from the analyst to associate move in IBD? What is the turnover rate of junior level positions in ER?

Research Associate/Assistant Responsibilities

For fresh undergrads that land themselves entry level equity research positions, BB or otherwise, what sort of responsibilities can typically be expected of someone at this level? Is it mostly news and data gathering, report editing, and other "bitch work," or what responsibilities are commonly delegated to fresh undergrads in ER? Is there much modeling work, due diligence/company visits, institutional and client meetings, or is this work typically given only to an analyst? If so, what skills can be gleaned from being a research associate? What is the usual timeline for progression from research associate > senior research associate/coverage analyst?

Getting to the buyside...

How common/easy is it to do a sell-side stint, get an MBA/CFA or both, and then transition into the buyside at a HF or something similar? What are the more common routes to buyside research or eventually becoming a PM if not?

After a few years and two trials the feds finally dropped all charges for "obstruction of justice" in lieu of a one year good behvior sentencing. What a waste of time...well my bet is this guy is re-hired and working again by the end of the week.
