can someone please give me some insight?

I've been heavily focusing on on-campus recruiting at my school and have, fortunately, gotten lots of interviews... but no second rounds! I've already gotten at least 5 phone calls telling me that I was an excellent candidate and if the markets weren't this bad, I would definitely be a shoo-in. I have a high GPA, target school, waiting to hear back from my summer at a BB about a full-time offer... I just don't get it!

I am especially frustrated because I get absolutely no sympathy from anyone. Everyone at my school says that I should be thankful that I am getting 1st rounds, but getting a lot of 1st rounds means nothing if I can't get into the 2nd round. for those who have been successful in this market (gotten 2nd rounds or even that offer), PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INSIGHT. What am I doing wrong? OR rather, WHAT MORE CAN I DO? This week is pretty much the last week of on-campus interviewing, so any advice soon would be great. thanks!

Goldman securities interview - help!

I'm interviewing for Goldman securities analyst. seems like they bunched up all of sales, trading, quant, finance positions into one this year. not to mention equities, FI, etc. etc. are all included in this position.

has this been the norm for them? going into my interview, should I know exactly what role/product I want to work with? any advice about the interview would be much appreciated. thanks!

What is Blackstone's Limited Partner Relations and Fund Placement Group? As in, what do they do? And how do they relate to the bigger picture at Blackstone? Also it's not Park Hill since their employees are categorized into 2 different groups on their "The Team" page. Thanks!

a summer at lehman and what??

I did a summer at Lehman and have yet to hear back from them about an offer/no offer largely because of the market (long story that I won't go into). I have pretty good credentials, so I have some interviews coming up next week for full-time... how will recruiters (for those of you who can speak first-hand) feel about lehman interns applying for full-time? how can I spin this in a positive light?

maybe this is a stupid question, but I am stressed out and running out of ideas. thanks.

Lehman Brothers START program interview

I have an interview with them in a week. I'd appreciate any advice or knowledge you guys can share with me about the structure of the interview, what technical things I should look over, etc. But, above all, anything specific to LB interviews vs. other firms... if there's anything. Thanks!

PS - START is their S&T and Research rotation program.

nycintern.org?

Has anyone had any experience living with nycintern.org. I just finalized my room, so I guess I have no choice, but to go ahead with it. It seems like a dream come true - Midtown (Herald Square) and cheap rent (granted, 4 people in an apartment).

There has to be a catch, right?

Group presentation as interview?

Apparently this is going to be the format of my final round interview. I'll be put into groups with other final rounders and we're going to work on a case, make a powerpoint, and present it to management. What should I be paying attention to? Think we'll be watched like lab rats while we work on the case? Thanks!
