GMAT Prep... Kaplan or Princeton Review

So I've got to choose between Kaplan or Princeton Review for my GMAT prep course. Anyone know the strengths & weaknesses or each? Or are they pretty much identical?

MM & Boutique IBD Compensation

Anyone else here joining a middle-market firm? Coming from a "semi-target" type school, I ended up accepting an offer from a MM firm based in San Francisco. If anyone is in a similar situation (in SF, NYC, Chicago, or elsewhere), can you shed some light on your analyst compensation packages? It seems that analyst compensation at MM firms ranges pretty widely from on par with BB's to as much as $15k below for base-salary.

SAT scores in interview

Although it doesn't seem common in banking, I have had numerous hedge funds ask me for my SAT score during interviews (apparently this happens with consulting also). I understand they are looking for a measure of intelligence, but those scores are 4-5 years old!

my question is, can they actually verify old SAT scores? I mean, i don't even know how i would go about finding my old scores (i only remember total, not breakdown). Is this just a ridiculous question that you can lie for?

anyone know anything about Merriman? They called me to invite me to interview, even though I never submitted a resume to them (they got it from my career center apparently).

They don't seem to have much of a reputation. opinions on SF office?

graduating in december

Hey everyone,

So i'm a fourth year now, with superdays coming up at multiple middle market banks. I'm on track right now to graduate in May, but i've been thinking that if i don't get any offers I can pursue a minor and hold off graduation until December 07. This would give me a chance to boost my GPA and go through recruiting season again with more experience.

My question is, do banks see this as a major turnoff, or are they pretty indifferent? If i was to delay my graduation until Dec 07 by pursuing a minor, would banks consider me for a summer internship this year?

response time after first-round interview

For those of you who have been going through the interview process: how long have you typically had to wait to hear if you've made it to the second round?

I expected a couple days at minimum, but i'm still waiting to hear from interviews i had two weeks ago today...

anyone else had this happen to them?

Giuliani Capital Partners?

Anyone know anything about the boutique Giuliani Capital Partners?

Their website is pretty basic, not much real info.

Anyone know where they fall on the mid-market league tables? How they compare to other mid-market boutiques?
