Jefferies phone interview tomorrow morning out-of-nowhere!! Help please!!

Just got a phone interview with Jefferies for tech IB analyst tomorrow morning. I will be talking to a Senior VP of the Digital Media practice. Anyone know anything very specific to this group? Experience interviewing at the firm? Any surprises I should look out for?

I ran a search and noticed that most threads here ask for advice on how to land an internship but nothing about how to do well once you land the summer gig. So for those who've done an internship, what are some general advice that you have for us newbies?

I have a friend who's a sophomore at a non-target (GPA 3.89) and have the following two choices for this summer:

1) PWM at regional BB

2) Corporate valuation at a no name consultancy (may be some financial modeling work)

In your opinion, which one will get her furthest for the SA recruiting for her junior year next year?

So I'm on a crusade to understand what's it like to be in ER. I guess my question is that for an ER associate who participates in an earnings conference call, what are the ideas that he or she should be focusing on?

Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you know the typical career path for internal corporate budgeting / financial analyst type role. Now I have heard that these roles, even at top companies like Google, can be very mundane work. Will these type of positions even provide me the opportunity to break into i-banking later or go to a top MBA school?

Any "creative" ways to detect mistakes in your models before the client sees them?

Hi all. I was wondering if any of you have found clever or creative ways to find mistakes in your models before it goes out to the client? What I have been doing is checking the source of every number entered and almost all formulas to see if the calculations were done correctly. It's the safetest way but gets inpracticle when I'm time-pressed with multiple projects at hand. Any advice? Thanks!!!
