TO Current Bankers--Private Placement--Advice?

If I wanted to introduce an angel investor with a CEO of a company that wants to do a PPM, do I need a brokers license? How much are the fees typically charged (does 8% of what is being invested seem right?)? What books/cases can I read so that I can structure the deal smoothly? thank you very much for your help.

Applying for a job that is posted by a headhunter/recruiter

When applying for a job that is advertised by a recruiting firm, are you suppose to address the cover letter to the recruiting firm or just state "hiring manager/sir/madame etc". I have been searching through the forums and have found some info on headhunters/recruiting firms, but not on this subject.

Merchant Banking/ I-banking--Same thing?

Does anyone know what merchant banking is and how it differs from i-banking? Is it the same thing or are they different? I understand that some companies may have a merchant banking division under i-banking, but what does a company that calls itself a merchant bank exactly do? If anyone can help me out on this I would very much appreciate it because I am confused and I can't find any info on it(except for wikipedia, which was not very helpful).

A question to anyone that has seen the film "empire" and understands i-banking

Is the main character trying to get the drug dealer to act as an institutional investor by purchasing equity in an IPO (or is he really in PCS/PWM)?
If so, that would mean that the main character is an MD, right (if not what position is he)? The guy looks like he is 25/26 maybe 27, isn't that too young to be an MD?
Why does he host a party? Is it for the institutional investors that he plans on selling stock to during the road show?

Is it likely that a financial advisor recruiter would know anyone in IB? In general, do they have any contact with each other? Would the recruiter be able to help someone get an interview in the IBD?
