Where do Fired Investment Bankers Go?

Given the recent announcements of all these large layoffs at the big banks, what do analysts or bankers in general do after they get fired? Do they look for work at other firms, go back to school, or leave the industry entirely?

Hello,

I am going to Switzerland for about 10 days in August after my internship is done. I'll be staying at my friend's apartment in Zurich while I am over there. For those of you who have been, what are the sites and the places to go that are relatively local. I'm staying only for a short amount of time but I was thinking I can hit up Italy or Germany for a day trip. Any suggestions? Thanks

This is really annoying. I have a 3.79 for my GPA. Can I just round it up to 3.8 without HR getting annoyed or is this lying?

MBA Concentrations- Does it really matter?

If I am majoring in Finance for undergrad is it really necessary that I concentrate in Finance for my MBA. Banks really only care about the name of the school you go to so can I just concentrate in something I am interested in instead of concentrating in Finance.

Yeah I know there is a million GPA threads on the board put I just have a quick question. I have a 4.0 in my major GPA but only a 3.7 in my cummulative. Should I put both or just stick with the cum? Thanks in advance.

Why is it that having a 4.0 at a core school different from having a 4.0 that is not? Is the Ivy League teaching different material then the other schools, do they have some secret that they won't share to anyone else? What are you paying for anyway? Is it just the access to the alumni base or it's just for prestige? This may sound naive but I truly wonder. What is it that the core schools have that the non core schools don't.

I just heard that the SEO program is a great entry point for undergraduates who are particularly interested in a career in investment banking. On their website they say that 80% of their interns usually get offers for analysts positions upon graduation and that it's a great way to break into the business if your are not from a target school. I was wondering if this was correct, what is the reputation of this program inside of the banking industry and if you personally had any experience with SEO interns.
