Credit Suisse - Switzerland

Does anybody know what type of operation CS has in Zurich exactly? Do they have IBD over there? M&A?

I tried to search for this presuming there might be something on the topic, but didn't find anything. This is a question for the Euros out there or those directly involved with CS.

Any information would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Strategic Modelling Division

Does anybody work for or know of a strategic modelling division within a BB or other bank? Essentially, this group would serve as consultants to major corporations and build long term strategic planning, treasury and M&A models for CFOs and the internal corporate finance department of the organization.

I know they exist out there but wanted to gain some insight as to who might work in one such division and how they are perceived within the bank.

New Forum Topics - List Length

Any way we can lengthen the "New forum topics" list on the main page? Members tend to post more often to the new posts on this list than on the forums in the archive because they are visible.

Even going from 5 to 10 would probably be a big help and hopefully answer more questions or provide more advice.

Thanks

What is an Associate Director?

I work at a boutique and our hierarchy doesn't work this way.

I have had quite a bit of contact with Associate Directors at banks in the UK but have no clue what level of responsibility or education they have.

Can someone please shed some light? Thanks

US Banks in London

Of the US Banks, which has the largest presence in London? I know Merrill is pretty big over here but I haven't really noticed much of anyone else.

Further, do US banks in London typically hire Europeans or do they send guys over from the States? I'm not asking specifically for hiring out of school. I am currently an analyst in London with a US boutique and am looking to move to a BB or larger bank for year 2.

BlackBerry Vs. Treo

I work for a boutique where we are allowed to buy whichever pda or cell that we want and then expense it. In other words, there is no general issue Blackberry in the firm as in many BBs.

I do a lot (50-60%) of international travelling to mainly London and various other European countries (Norway, Holland, Germany, Denmark etc...) but I have been holding off on buying because I am torn between the Palm Treo and the Blackberry. The BB seems to be more popular in the US/Canada whereas the Treo dominates Europe.
