Difference between fixed income desks

I would like to know a little about the differences between different fixed income trading desks.
-MBS/ABS
-Rates trading
-Credit trading
-High Yield trading
Except for that it is different products, are there any desks that have different requierments than others? More quant? Better future opportunities? Etc. What are the difference in life between the different desks?
Thank you for your ti

Ops vs S&T (comments please)

This might sound like a really stupid question, and probably becuase it is... but I come from a very NON-target school. S&T positions are never recruited from here.
What happened is that by luck, high GPA, and a lot of phone calling managed to get an interview for a tier2 S&T position and also got an offer for the position.
I also have an offer from a BB Ops position and is now considering both. I feel like the S&T is better and would also fit my skill set better, but would like to have as much comments as possible since I feel like it is one of my most important choises in my life so far.
