The HR for trading is full of idiots

May sound like sour grapes, but I find it hilarious how capriciously they look for potential traders.

Ive heard a couple stories of undergrads, even art history majors, simply getting into trading at a BB simply because they go to a top 5. I would have thought trading was different when it comes to this, but apparently its not.

Need some advice for interview, etc.

I've posted on this site before, I have been trying to get a job in trading for the past few months, with little avail. I graduated from college about 7 months ago, applied to a lot of places with little luck. I was wondering how bad this is, and how bad is it to an interviewer.

One good thing is I will be soon having an interview with a bank, for a assistant in their sales. Its a temp/perm position, and seems ok.

Master's Of Finance

How relevant is this degree. If a recent graduate is having troubles getting offers, is this a useful degree to break into the industry? Specifically, S&T?

Putting up your own capital

To enter a trading firm. I know some of them aren't legit, but if you know the guys running it, can it be a good idea? I am straight out of college, I was really looking for a salary position, but unfortunately this might be all I can find. Is it worth it?

Which would be more advantageous

I know it depends on many circumstances, but what would you think would be better for someone looking into trading:

Getting a job as a trader/trader assistant with a new hedge fund that is starting up, or working for one of the big banks going for an analyst position.

I am leaning towards the hedge fund because they probably would give me a little more responsibility and more of a hands on

This site is rediculous

Every thread is that aspiring monkey guy making a comment then someone calling him an idiot, and then it goes back and forth back and forth. I'm not pointing fingers, cause in reality I could care a fucking less about you guys and your bitchfests on who knows more about IBing. If you guys act in real life even a fraction as immaturely as you act here, you aren't going to get anywhere, in any industry.

Did I miss the boat

First of all, glad to be part of the forums.

I have a question regarding application dates. I really wish to get into I-banking, specifically trading, and I only realized this upon completion of my undergraduate degree in physics this summer. I quickly found out that such jobs are usually applied for a year in advance. My question is, did I miss the boat, are there ever immediate openings for entry level positions around this time of year? I am already been unemployed for a few months and do not waste any more of my time.
