North Bridge Growth Equity

Anyone have any insight to North Bridge Growth Equity? (http://nbge.northbridge.com/Default.asp)

Mostly interested in whether or not they have a sourcing model due to theirs roots at Advent / Summit / TA. I'd imagine that they would employ more associates if that were the case.

Of course, would also be interested in lifestyle and the general culture of the firm. Recognizing the firm is relatively small and relatively new, there probably aren't many people out there with first hand knowledge, but in the off-chance there are, thanks.

Industry Verticals vs Generalist

WSO,

Inspired by a comment from the PE section, I'm interested in hearing everyone's thoughts on industry verticals and the pros and cons of each. Despite only being 15 months into my career, I feel as though I'm strongly attracted to the technology industry and want to dive into it for a couple years. Would 2 years of generalist banking and then 2 years of tech PE have the potential to pigeonhole me? I recognize very few users here have even started their careers, much less walked down the path long enough to have experience in the areas I'm asking. Would still love to hear your thoughts on the topic though.

Hey Everybody,

Would love to hear any inside scoop on these two firms. I'm particularly interested in the culture, hours, associate responsibilities, performance, or anything else that might assist in choosing a PE firm.

Thanks!

Hey all,

My apologies if this company has been discussed before, but running a search for TA breaks the system and the word associates isn't exactly a rare appearance on this board.

Boston Private Equity Firms

Hey Everyone,

As I work through my years as an analyst, I'm trying to get real detailed information on some of the private equity groups I plan on applying to in a few months. If anyone has any insight or works at one of the following private equity firms, please shoot me a message or drop a note as I'd love a chance to discuss:

Weston Presidio (Boston Office)

Nature of Portfolio Company Work

As I scope out profiles of associates at private equity firms, I often find them mentioning that a person's job responsibilities include assisting portfolio companies. Can anyone speak to what this work typically entails? Is it doing industry / competitor research, financial analysis, or similar type work?

Chat Server

Something is dreadfully wrong with the chat rooms (not sure how long they have been around, was my first time in). Seemed data was only sent to me when I submitted a message, making communication quite difficult. Also, it frequently was telling me that everyone was leaving and rejoining the chat room all at once. Anyone else experiencing this, or is it just me?

Classification of Forums

WallStreetOasis:

I really don't think you need to further classify the forums into sub-forums (such as industy specific, etc.) There are simply not enough categories to really make this feature useful. I know it is a crazy little detail, but we are bankers here ...
