Consulting to Investment Banking

i'm about to join a TMT group at a consulting firm (an ex-big 4 consultancy). i was hoping to make the switch into a TMT group at a bank (BB or MM) after a year, if this is possible.

what will my chances be?

if this doesn't work out, i was planning on working for a few years, going for my MBA, and making the switch afterwards.

Capgemini vs. Others

Any thoughts? I got an offer in their TME (telecom, media, entertainment) group as a Staff Business Consultant (supposedly less IT focus, more business)

how is cap perceived by other consulting firms? how feasible is it to trade up in prestige after a year or two?

Private Equity Advisory ???

I just had an interview with a very small (fewer than 10 people) private equity advisory firm. The firm identifies profitable private equity funds and helps clients invest in them.

Job description:
The firm’s activities cover the private equity landscape, including buyouts, venture capital, growth equity, and other sub-sectors (mezzanine, distressed, infrastructure, energy, etc). The Associate will support due diligence on private equity funds, assist the team with industry research, and participate in other activities of the investment team. This position will require a well-rounded skill set as this asset class requires a combination of analytical due diligence, strong intellectual curiosity, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
