Networking with Vice Chairman

Through some luck I've got a phone call set up with a former vice chairman at a BB who now works in another role for the firm. Does anyone know exactly what it means to be a vice chairman in terms of the corporate heirarchy?

Deutsche Bank Mock Interview

I've got a mock interview for Deutsche Bank later this week that is conflicting with something else that I want to do. I am considering skipping it only if it is purely a mock interview, however I don't see why that would be the case. I can't imagine why a bank would conduct mock interviews solely out of their own generosity.

PWC Interview

Hey dudes and dudettes. I'm a junior at a target and I've got a PWC advisory-Risk Management coming up next week. I am very interested in finance and will be very prepared for those interviews when they come up this winter but this consulting interview has kind of caught me by suprise. Does anyone have any specifics about this type of interview they'd like to share with me?

Failed Startup on Resume?

I'm a rising junior and I spent a great deal of time last year in an attempt to get a small start-up company off the ground with a group of other students. It no longer looks like this company is going to be successful but I still gained a tremendous amount of experience from working on it. I cold called landlords all over the city and made multiple presentations (pitches) to a large group (50+) selling my product.

Length of Spring Recruiting

For those who have already gone through it, how long does recruting usually go for in the spring? I know we have one or two rounds on campus and then they start bringing you down to the city for more interviews. Does this go on all semester or is it only for a brief period of time? I am at a target if that has any impact on what the process looks like. I am planning on going to Europe for Spring Break next year in late March and was hoping the two events will not conflict with one another.

Shadowing on a few desks...

I'm a rising junior interning in Operations and after emailing a few people ended up with a chance to visit a few traders (equities and FI) at the bank where I'm working. Most of the research I've done has had more to do with banking and asset management so I don't really know too much about what a trading room/floor would look like. I'll have plenty of things to ask these guys but I don't want to sound like I have no idea what is going on so does anybody have ideas about things I should review before going to see them? I'll probably want to move up the BB ladder next summer to another bank so this is probably just a learning experience rather than an attempted kiss ass session.

More HR Tomfoolery

So I know there have already been some threads about this, but I wanted to share my situation. I interviewed with a firm about two weeks ago and they said they would get back to be in about a week after the interview. A week past and I heard nothing and so I gave the HR guy a call and he said I was still under consideration but a decision still hasn't been made and he should get back to me in a few days to let me know.

Operations

What exactly would an operations intern be responsible for and how would this prepare me for another internship as a junior in either asset management or banking? I assume this is a pretty good opportunity for me since I'm only a sophomore thoughts?
