Cost of Reuters Knowledge Subscription?

Anyone have any experience pricing a Reuters Knowledge subscription? I work at a small firm and we can't afford to spring for CapIQ. Hoping Reuters is a bit cheaper. Anyone???

Deciding between 2 offers - need help TONIGHT

Background:

I have a potential job offer (in negotiations) with a guy who manages a pool of money that I believe is his family's money. The guy is trying to be a full-circle asset manager by investing in everything from stocks to FI to operational businesses. He wants my help primarily in looking at deals for operational businesses, but I imagine I would do whatever I wanted / was asked of. Currently, the fund consists of him calling the shots and 2 support staff (an admin and part time accountant), so I would be his first "professional" hire, but it seems like he has the infrastructure set up to pay employees. I need to decide between this and another, much more vanilla corporate finance offer (but still attractive). I graduated in 2006 and received a 700+ on the GMAT, so my plan is to put in 2-3 years somewhere and then do b-school, and he is ok with this.

Question:

Consultant Financial Analyst

I am an ex-IB analyst looking for other ex-analysts to help start a small consulting business in the bay area. Essentially, I am looking for a partner to kick it off. We slap together a PDF, send it to our contacts, and bill out at around $50 an hour. Work when you want, stay in the M&A industry and start a business. Happy to talk more live. Give me some contact info and we can go from there.

Considering starting a consulting company with ex-analysts in SF

So I did the IB thing for the past year, and decided it wasn't for me. Despite what all the college kids will tell you on this board, its not all it is cracked up to be. I happen to enjoy beer, life, girls, and downtime, none of which are compatible with IB. Current analysts or other ex-analysts will appreciate this.

So since I left in early March, I have been testing the Bay Area job market. I dont really want to do traditional corporate finance, and I am not crazy about going back into IB. I have picked up a few part-time gigs (both FP&A and M&A/Investment related) to pay the bills, and have really enjoyed it. I am able to essentially set my own hours, only take projects that I like, and it pays quite well hourly. So essentially I am thinking of making a go at starting a mini-business with ex-analysts for hire.

NDAs with Prospective Clients at your bank

Does your bank sign NDAs with prospective clients before having an early stage informational call (pre-mandate)? I have heard our clients request NDAs and have heard my bank refuse to sign them claiming that other banks do not sign these either at this stage. Seems strange to me.

Any insight?

Someone tell me why starting a PE fund is "hard"

It seems ridiculously easy. All you need is a few years of deal experience to be able to handle the actual technical side of things. (Granted your resume may need to be better to raise capital).

ANALYST Resume

Anyone care to post how they word their resume to talk about their deals / books? We all more or less do the same thing anyways, so I figure most of the bullets in a resume look the same. Just curious...

IB --> Corp Dev - Who has done it?

Doing the analyst thing now, but my goal is to be in corp dev at a small company for the hours and the startup mentality. Has anyone done this? How does this compare? Is it possible to do this after just a 2 year analyst stint, or do most have associate-level backgrounds? Also, are you INCREDIBLY more bored than when you were in IB, or just slightly? (I think I can handle slightly).

This has been asked before, but can anyone ballpark the pay after certain amounts of IB experience?
