in my previous BB HK office interviews (for SA), i was asked "where do you see yourself work after graduation". i said i wanted to work in the united states for a few years, gain some experience and eventually go back to asia. sometimes the interviewer wasnt happy with the answer so i said both HK and NYC work for me. you would think i got dinged but i didn't.

I have an interview with GS in its 180 Maiden Lane office. my plane arrives in NYC at around 8AM but my interview isn't until afternoon. can anyone recommend a quite place (like a library?) near that office where i can study/prepare?
if no such place exist, then i would go to starbuck's.

i'm applying for both S&T and IBD. However, my previous finance-related experiences are all S&T related, like supporting traders and analyzing swap spreads. Nothing is really transaction-oriented.

i applied for GS Hong Kong SA position. Got an email from HR and she said the process goes like this:

first, a 15-20 minute firm wide phone interview
if i pass, a regular first round interview, phone or in-person
if i pass, super day.

What should my friend do? Transfer or stay?

Hey guys:

My buddy currently goes to UVa, and he got accepted to Wharton as transfer. If he takes the offer, he'll start in wharton as a junior. But at the same time, since he's in-state @ UVa, he has to take an extra of 50000-60000 loan for wharton.

this guy has 3.97 GPA @ UVa, likes UVa a lot, probably going to be a top student @ McIntire School of Commerce, member on varsity crew team, works for private equity firms every summer/winter break.
